Thought for 20th Oct 2005

The TfT is Ideals....................They can be Thoughts, Persons, Characters (fictional or mythological), even Gods'..............But the things so wonderful about them is the Guideing and inspirational force that they have in them..........
Here are some Great Quotes, some of them are ideals which these great men followed..............
"Ideals are like stars: you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them you reach your destiny."
--Carl Schurz
"If you want to build a ship, don't herd people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."
--Antoine de Saint-Exupery
"A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world."
--Oscar Wilde
"Every human being has a work to carry on within, duties to perform abroad, influence to exert, which are peculiarly his, and which no conscience but his own can teach."
--William Ellery Channing
"Three passions have governed my life:
The longings for love, the search for knowledge,
And unbearable pity for the suffering of [humankind].
Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness.
In the union of love I have seen
In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision
Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined.
With equal passion I have sought knowledge.
I have wished to understand the hearts of [people].
I have wished to know why the stars shine.
Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens,
But always pity brought me back to earth;
Cries of pain reverberated in my heart
Of children in famine, of victims tortured
And of old people left helpless.
I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot,
And I too suffer.
This has been my life; I found it worth living. "
--Bertrand Russell(adapted)

The TfT is Dreams, I dream do u..........why yes and why not........Do u actually believe in your Dreams...............put in efforts to make them come true..........this is what all great men do and have done ...........they dream and them make their dream come true.
"If you lose hope(read stop Dreaming), somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream."
--Martin Luther King, jr (The Trumpet of Conscience)
"There is nothing like a dream to create the future."
--Victor Hugo
"I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
--Henry David Thoreau
"Nothing happens unless first a dream."
--Carl Sandburg
"To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe."
--Anatole France
"Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the actions stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living."
--Anais Nin
"I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long. If we're in each others dreams, we can be together all the time."
--Calvin & Hobbes(the Newspaper cartoon strip)

The TfT is Criticism. What is it.....is it just telling someone where he/she is wrong???? It is often not taken in a positive sense......(not often given in a positive not e too for that matter).................................there is a very thin line for both the giver and the sender for Criticism to be in the right sense and we more often than not fail to identify that line, and in so doing often cross it....................
Here are some quotes ........
"Criticism is prejudice made plausible."
--H. L. Mencken
"Men in authority will always think that criticism of their policies is dangerous. They will always equate their policies with patriotism, and find criticism subversive."
--Henry Steele Commager
"Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson
"If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them."
--M. K. Gandhi

Thought For 17th Oct, 2005

The TfT is Imagination.............Eienstien once said "Imagination is more important than knowledge" how very true and exact this is.......we may stumble upon a discovery but the chances of that happening are too few ...........better( also the more sought after and trusted) method is to imagine and then pursure.......

"Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere."
--Carl Sagan

"Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."
--Gloria Steinem

"Every great advance in science has issued from a new audacity of the imagination."
--John Dewey( from The Quest For Certainty)

"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination."
--John Lennon

"Imagination is the living power and prime agent of all human perception."
--Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Thought For 13th Oct 2005

The TfT is Education --- the purpose of it,,,,,the impact it can have or is supposed to have on our lives.
Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it beocmes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.
--Paulo Freire
The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men.
--Bill Beattie

Thought For 10th Oct, 2005

        The TfT is Tolerance. It's said that   "Only the tree that learns to sway and bend lives through a storm, other which obstinately stand upright get uprooted" (Fable).

" Half the issues in the world can be solved if mankind learns to be a little tolerant" (Unknown)

"What is tolerance? -- it is the consequence of humanity. We are all formed of frailty and error; let us pardon reciprocally each other's folly -- that is the first law of nature."

                                                                                                                                                        --Voltaire

"The capacity for getting along with our neighbor depends to a large extent on the capacity for getting along with ourselves. The self-respecting individual will try to be as tolerant of his neighbor's shortcomings as he is of his own."

                                                --Eric Hoffer

"The remarkable thing is that we really love our neighbor as ourselves: we do unto others as we do unto ourselves. We hate others when we hate ourselves. We are tolerant toward others when we tolerate ourselves. We forgive others when we forgive ourselves. We are prone to sacrifice others when we are ready to sacrifice ourselves."

Thought for 14th Oct, 2005

The TfT is FAITH..........Its said that the power of faith surpasses every other power in the universe except perhaps that of  "Hope". Its Faith and faith alone that makes a person believe, in all that is possible what he/she can or cannot do.........................and contrary to the popular thought, .................a persons faith is his/her alone and doesn't depend upon anyone elses.

Here are some quotes to go by

"I have one life and one chance to make it count for something . . . I'm free to choose what that something is, and the something I've chosen is my faith. Now, my faith goes beyond theology and religion and requires considerable work and effort. My faith demands -- this is not optional -- my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference."

                                                                --Jimmy Carter

Faith is not contrary to the usual ideas, something that turns out to be right or wrong, like a gambler's bet: it's an act, an intention, a project, something that makes you, in leaping into the future, go so far, far, far ahead that you shoot clean out of time and right into Eternity, which is not theend of time or a whole lot of time or unending time, but timelessness, the old Eternal Now.

                                --Joanna Russ

Thought For 11th Oct 2005

                The TfT is Prayer..............What is prayer to u...........?????????/ is just folding ones hand and acknowledging the SUPREME BEING the only for of prayer........................look around u......every thing  a mother praising her child, a doctor treating a patient and relieving him of pain...........all the wonders of nature are forms of prayer...........Isn't love in any form a kind of a prayer.

Here's a quote to go along.....................................

"Everybody prays whether [you think] of it as praying or not. The odd silence you fall into when something very beautiful is  happening or something very good or very bad. The ah-h-h-h! that sometimes floats up out of you as out of a Fourth of July  crowd when the sky-rocket bursts over the water. The stammer of pain at somebody else s pain. The stammer of joy at somebody  else's joy. Whatever words or sounds you use for sighing with over your own life. These are all prayers in their way. These  are all spoken not just to yourself but to something even more familiar than yourself and even more strange than the world."

                                                                                                        --Frederick Buechner

Thought For 7th Oct, 2005

        The TfT is Friendship . A feeling, attachment, emotion which is second nly to perhaps love in terms of its diverseness and different shades.

"The sharing of joy, whether physical, emotional, psychic, or intellectual, forms a bridge between the sharers which can be the basis for understanding much of what is not shared between them, and lessens the threat of their difference."

                                                        --Audre Lorde

"A brief candle; both ends burning
An endless mile; a bus wheel turning
A friend to share the lonesome times
A handshake and a sip of wine
So say it loud and let it ring
We are all a part of everything
The future, present and the past
Fly on proud bird
You're free at last."
                --Charlie Daniels

"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares."

        --Henri Nouwen

"The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship."

                                                        --Ralph Waldo Emerson

"When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don't stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven't hoed,
And shout from where I am, What is it?
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit."
                --Robert Frost

Thought For 6 Oct, 2005

        The TfT is Character. Tis' said that 'It' is present in everyone though in diffternt amounts and of varying quality.............people keep talking about building a good character..cuz what is imp is more important is not Building a sound character but maintaining one over one's lifetime...........................And nothing build a character more than hardships and struggle..............

        "Aag main tap ke hi jo nikale hai wahi sachha sona"  (to obtain the purest gold u have to heat it more intensely)

"If you will think about what you ought to do for other people, your character will take care of itself. Character is a by-product, and any man who devotes himself to its cultivation in his own case will become a selfish prig."

                        --Woodrow Wilson

"What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him."

                                                --Victor Frankl

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved."

        --Helen Keller

"Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands."

                                                                                                                        --Anne Frank

"The best index to a person's character is (a) how he treats people who can't do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can't fight back."

Have u ever wondered that why is it when u want to explain somthing bold, something a bit irrational (from the others prepective that is) u really have to face a lot of stiff opposition in getting ur idea/ thought accepted..............................Reason.........ahhhhhhhhhhh...........Well the reasons boil down to Faith, Beliefs, Mind set's .

Here's the quote to got along with that thought

"The greatest enemy of the truth is very often not a Lie-delibrate, contrived and dishonest; but the Myth persistent, pursuasive and unrealistic"

Thought For 4th oct 2005

Good Morning Friends
        The TfTs are

        It is said "Ignorance is a bliss"...........yes it is !!!!!! if u choose that is to be ignorant of the evils, vices in a way that children are .................... Isn't it ironic that we want our children to grow up like us,,,,,,,,when we should be the ones trying to be pure n  true at heart like them for in them we can see reflections of GOD.

"There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved. :     A sense of loving and being loved is not restricted to one's Spouse, children, parents, friends or associates. It can be applied to everything and everyone in GOD's world. To Love and fell Loved is nothing less than to have a reverence for life"

Thought For 3rd oct 2005

Good Morning Friends
        The TfT is Humor ...........Its true that not everyone is born with a sense of Humor but...at least one can try to inculcate it.......for laughter is God's gift as one of the most simple yet effective tools to express and spread happniess.............................Afterall a "A smile begets a Smile"

Humor is a prelude to faith and Laughter is the begining of prayer.........Thank God  for the gift of laughter and for those who carry the message on their wings.

                                                                                                                                --Unknown

"Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly; devils fall because of their gravity."

Thought for 30th sept 2005

Good Morning Friends
                The TfT  is  Success . It is said "Nothing Succeeds like Success" ..........Question is what DO u percieve as success.....................................

Success
"To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."

Thought for 29th sept 2005

Good Morning Friends
        The TfT  is A miracle called LIFE .........How everything the whole system i mean is so perfect even the inherent imperfections are purposly there .............each and everything is so interdependent from a little insect to the biggest mammal all have an impact upon te whole.................

"People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle."                                                                                                                                                           -- Thich Nhat Hanh

"The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself."

                                                                                                                                                --Henry Miller

Thought for 28th Sept 2005

Good Morning Friends
        The TfT is  Indifference  for me it is the biggest sin one can commit. As was quoted by the charachter Patch Adams in the movie by the same name, "U say u don't want to get close to patient's to avoid transference, u want to fight it........transference gentlemen is inevitable, if u want to fight fight against on of the most terrible diseases on earth: INDIFFERENCE"

        Ask yourself honestly is it so hard NOT to b indifferent ......... or Do u Not sleep better knowing that u have been considerate, compassionate and caring..................then Why Why do we still CHOOSE to be Indifferent. here are a few quotes to shake up ur concience

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
                                                                --Edmund Burke (attributed)
"The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference.
The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference.
And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference."
                                                -- Elie Wiesel (Oct. 1986)
"Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral."

                                                                                                                        -- Paulo Freire

"Now my friends, I am opposed to the system of society in which we live today, not because I lack the natural equipment to do for myself but because I am not satisfied to make myself comfortable knowing that there are thousands of my fellow men who suffer for the barest necessities of life. We were taught under the old ethic that man's business on this earth was to look out for himself. That was the ethic of the jungle; the ethic of the wild beast. Take care of yourself, no matter what may become of your fellow man. Thousands of years ago the question was asked; ''Am I my brother's keeper?'' That question has never yet been answered in a way that is satisfactory to civilized society. Yes, I am my brother's keeper. I am under a moral obligation to him that is inspired, not by any maudlin sentimentality but by the higher duty I owe myself. What would you think me if I were capable of seating myself at a table and gorging myself with food and saw about me the children of my fellow beings starving to death."

                        Eugene V. Debs: 1908 speech

"Happiness" one of the most understated and misunderstood word coming second only to 'Love' and 'Sorry'.
Such is the extent to which it is misunderstood that it led to sayings like
"Your key to 'Happiness' lies in truly understanding what 'Happiness' really means to you"
--Anonymous
Here is what some great people had to day on this subject...........
"It is niether wealth nor splendor, but tranquility and occupation , which gives happiness"
-- Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to Mrs A. S. Marks, 1788
"We have no more right to consume happiness without producing it than to consume wealth without producing it"
-- George Bernard Shaw, Candida
"There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want ; and, after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second."
-- Logan Persall Smith, After-thoughts

Good Morning Friends
The TfT is the Exuberance, the boundless energy, enthusiasm and spirit of Youth.
"When all the world is young, lad, And all the trees are green;
And ever Goose a Swan, lad, And every lass a queen;
Then hey for boot and horse, lad, and round the world away;
Young blood must have its course, lad, and every dog its day"
-- Charles Kingsley (to his son)

"No time to marry, no time to settle down;
I'm a young man / woman, and i ain't done running around"
-- Anonymous (Couldnt find out)
"Youth is the pollen,
that blows through the sky
and it does not ask why"
-- Stephen Vincent Benet

Good Morning Friends
The TfT is the Wisdom a word most often understated
"It is no longer enough to be smart - all the technological tools in the world add meaning and value only if they enhance our core values, the deepest part of our heart. Acquiring knowledge is no guarantee of practical, useful application. Wisdom implies a mature integration of appropriate knowledge, a seasoned ability to filter the inessential from the essential."
--Doc Childre and Deborah Rozman

Good Morning Friends
The TfT is "The Present".......for here in lies all our power to create what will become history and to mould the shape of coming future" (Rajnish)
"Happy the man, and happy he alone.
He, who can call today his own:
He who, secure wtihin, can say,
Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today
-- Jhon Dryden, Imitation of Horace
"Do not say, "It is morning," and dismiss it with a name of yesterday. See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name."
-- Rabindranath Tagore, Stray birds
"We want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinker's damn is the history we make today."
-- henry Ford, Chicago Tribune, May 25, 1916

Thought for 13th sept 2005

Good Morning Friends,
Todays thought is one of my all time favourite.......the lines in Bold really carry the essense of Ideal Frame of Mind
It talks about being eternally positive.
Salutation to the Dawn
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And Tomorrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!
--Kalidasa

Here is the thought for today ...............COMPASSION !!!!!!!!
"How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these."
--George Washington Carver

Here's the TfT
Believe in YOURSELF and your abilities, have confidence on them and test them often
"My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny."
--Elaine Maxwell

Good Morning Friends
The TfT is Difficulty as they " If u want to go to Heaven u'll have to die first" the jist being make youself worthy of whatever u get by putting in the required labour first. cuz if u get it without the labour then u wont value it.

"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
--Thomas Paine

For 6th

"Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death."
--Anais Nin

For 7th

"Time is of importance because it passes"
---Quoted from a movie
"Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.
--Ecclesiastes

Thought for 02/09/2005

Good Morning Friends
Here's the thought for today.

Ethics, too, are nothing but reverence for life. This is what gives me the fundamental principle of morality, namely, that good consists in maintaining, promoting, and enhancing life, and that destroying, injuring, and limiting life are evil.
Civilization and Ethics, 1949

Thoughts for 01 Sept 2005

Here are the THOUGHTS for Today

1.      Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that one goes worrying about are of no importance whatsoever...

2       "There are two ways of constructing a software design; one way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it  so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. The first method is far more difficult."

3.      "The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."

Thought for 31/08/2005

Hi Friends

    the thought for the day is

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin--real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

        Think about it

        The TfT  is WORDS  there are very few things more powerful, that are so easy to use. WORDS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they don't mean vocabulary..............., But Think about it can u .....How often do u say something which comes out and means (conveys) precisely what u ment to???????????

        Wars have been fought because of words gone astray ...............Nations have risen from words said right.............people have been broken and carrers been made...........love has been found and hearts been broken..........and still..........................most of us seem to be at loss for words.................

"But words are things, and a small drop of ink,
Falling like dew, upon a thought, produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think."
                                                -- Lord Byron

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean--neither more nor less."

"Words, like glass, obscure when they do not aid vision."
                                                -- Joseph Joubert

"We should have a great fewer disputes in the world if words were taken for what they are, the signs of our ideas only, and not for things themselves."

                                                                                                                                                --John Locke

"Words not only affect us temporarily; they change us, they socialize or unsocialize us."

Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words? He thinks I don't know the ten-dollar words. I know them all right. But there are older and simpler and better words, and those are the ones I use.

    The TfT is Individuality. This is most understood ............................but least practiced and often compromised upon............WHY......is compromising upon it really benifitting and worth it????????? ..........WHO ARE U?  ARE U RESPONSIBLE FOR UR OWN ACTIONS? WHAT IS UR CONTRIBUTION TO THE WORLD AROUND U?

"Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true."

                                                                                                                                                        -- Buddha

"Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one."
                                                                                                --Eleanor Roosevelt

"One day our descendants will think it incredible that we paid so much attention to things like the amount of melanin in our skin or the shape of our eyes or our gender instead of the unique identities of each of us as complex human beings."

                                                                --Franklin Thomas in Gloria Steinem, Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions, 1983

"The whole course of human history may depend on a change of heart in one solitary and even humble individual - for it is in the solitary mind and soul of the individual that the battle between good and evil is waged and ultimately won or lost."

                                                                --M. Scott Peck

"What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great person is one who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude."

        --Ralph Waldo Emerson

"I have expressed my strong interest in the mass of the people; and this is founded, not on their usefulness to the community, so much as on what they are in themselves.... Indeed every man (sic), in every condition, is great. It is only our own diseased sight which makes him little. A man is great as a man, be he where or what he may. The grandeur of his nature turns to insignificance all outward distinctions."

                                                        --William Ellery Channing

        The TfT is "Feminism", Isn't every one a bit of it ( and i  am not talking about lass's (ladies) here). If not aren't u supposed to be ????????.........what is it good , bad!!!!..........what????

        Does everyone even know what exactly it is ?????????
        My prespective is that somewhere in everyone there is a feminist. Its just that some people identify with that part of themselves; some even nurture & explore it; some live in its denial and some are just plainly oblivious of its existence (even if they are getting along well with that part unknowingly). Some are comfortable with it some are not, some even ridicule others who identify with it...........................

        Here are some quotes to get ur brains chugging..........
"It's important to remember that feminism is no longer a group of organizations or leaders. It's the expectations that parents have for their daughters, and their sons, too. It's the way we talk about and treat one another. It's who makes the money and who makes the compromises and who makes the dinner. It's a state of mind. It's the way we live now."               --Anna Quindlen

"Does feminist mean large unpleasant person who'll shout at you or someone who believes women are human beings. To me it's the latter, so I sign up."                                                                                                                                                   --Margaret Atwood

"I will feel equality has arrived when we can elect to office women who are as incompetent as some of the men who are already there."                                                                                                                                                   --Maureen Reagan

"This is no simple reform. It really is a revolution. Gender and race because they are easy and Visible differences have been the primary ways of organizing human beings into superior and inferior groups and into the cheap labour in which this system still depends. We are talking about a society in which there will be no roles other than those chosen or those earned. We are really talking about humanism."                                                                                                                                                        --Gloria Steinem (Talking on inculcating Feminism)

      The TfT  is "A different prespective on Love" its about love as a *choice*  as a more grander thing than just a relation between two people or family. Its about love for Humanity, Love for the poor and suffering........................and about how THIS LOVE is so wonderful and so very difficult.

        Let me ask u a question ........Do u think love promotes Justice?.............!!!! NO???.well read on .....................!!!!!YES ???? Think how before u read on............

        "Love, like truth and beauty, is concrete. Love is not fundamentally a sweet feeling; not, at heart, a matter of sentiment, attachment, or being "drawn toward." Love is active, effective, a matter of making reciprocal and mutually beneficial relation with one's friends and enemies. Love creates righteousness, or justice, here on earth. To make love is to make justice. As advocates and activists for justice know, loving involves struggle, resistance, risk. People working today on behalf of women, blacks, lesbians and gay men, the aging, the poor in this country and elsewhere know that making justice is not a warm, fuzzy experience. I think also that sexual lovers and good friends know that the most compelling relationships demand hard work, patience, and a willingness to endure tensions and anxiety in creating mutually empowering bonds.

        For this reason loving involves commitment. We are not automatic lovers of self, others, world, or God. Love does not just happen. We are not love machines, puppets on the strings of a deity called "love." Love is a choice -- not simply, or necessarily, a rational choice, but rather a willingness to be present to others without pretense or guile. Love is a conversion to humanity -- a willingness to participate with others in the healing of a broken world and broken lives. Love is the choice to experience life as a member of the human family, a partner in the dance of life, rather than as an alien in the world or as a deity above the world, aloof and apart from human flesh.

--Carter Heyward in "Passion for Justice"
PS: If u have a collection of quotes , sayings , proverbs.........u can contribute to TfT's to............this way i will also get to know what u all are interested in doing . The TfT is "Commitment". A very big word that carries in itself so many interpretations , meanings, shades, depth, varying levels of gravity all because of the different contexts' and conjunctions. Most of us are actively aware of only two of these,....... in context with RELATIONSHIPS & WORK. hat about so many other things ............ what about commitment to SELF, to Nation, to humanity, to goodness & goodwill, to responsibilities of every conceivable type.
Most of us are so afraid of DOUBT, we say moment doubt comes in way, the commitment its gone. But think for a moment is it really so ........ We know prefect is not possible (atleast not by human designs) and still we try to practically implement it ...........................

Here's the QUOTE i think u'll all get the context of it.

"The relationship between commitment and doubt is by no means an antagonistic one. Commitment is healthiest when it is not without doubt but in spite of doubt."

--Abigail Van Buren

Poem for my Friends

Hi

I got this from a website i was browsing and like it a lot hope u do too......

When life is too demanding

And more than you can bear

You feel like you're all alone

And that no one really cares

Life, you feel, is not fair at all

The world is weighing you down

You've forgotten how to smile

Your face is etched with a frown

The only thing I know to do

Is stay close to your side

And try to bring your feelings out

When they only want to hide

I think by now that you believe

I'm always here for you

That I will never run away

Especially when you're blue

I can't seem to find the words

To lift you from your slump

But I can offer my presence

When you're "down in the dumps"

So please don't hide away from me

In your time of need

You may think I cannot help

But some day, I might succeed

A Start for Sure

Namaste/ Hello
As the saying goes "well begun is half done" I certainly hope that I am nowhere near HALF and may i never reach it. Lets get going then.
Well I've never written a personal diary (nor did I ever feel a need for it). But this blogging concept has utterly taken over me. Maybe its got something to do with that way i think and my ideologies which strongly support a world of helpful people who are all so open to each other. Yeah yeah! i know as they would always say i am just being romantic and dreamy but then is there anything wrong at being that way. I'll say absolutely not cuz for every change, every invention, desire, wish one has to think, to imagine, to dream, get a vision and everyone does it from small kids to the oldest elders so for me everyone is same from this aspect. So hoping i have taken out a bit of ME for all of YOU and that i continue doing so........here' to a nice small start................................................May it never END.
"Never Close the Window of Hope and Deprive Yourself of the Eternal Dawn of Happiness"
